Dear Listeners,

 

On a cold and snowy winter night over 40 years ago, Doc Wolfe and family arrived in Rochester. The hope in his heart was to bring warmth to a cold place and shine the light of the gospel in the darkness. Doc ministered in many ways...through churches, camps, and various ministries too numerous to mention.

 

After his death, nearly 9 years ago, a band of loyal listeners and servants of The Lord, sought to keep the things  he started going. Most of his ministry efforts are still in tact today, in fact, but the end of an era has come.

 

Though the last of the Wolfe family moved out of Rochester 7 years ago, the family still owned and operated the SONshine network, this group of radio signals that Doc put together.

 

Well, the time has now come to pass these stations on to others. We hope that much of the programming will continue and that the new fresh programs will be beneficial to the community.

 

So, on behalf of our entire family, I want to thank you, Rochester, for loving us and providing us with so many precious memories. The friends we have made, we will never forget.

 

I want to thank Gail and Ken, two of the most loyal, dedicated and hardworking people I know, and all the many volunteers who did so much to keep us on the air these 9 years. I will miss working with you.

 

We appreciate the broadcasters who have worked so hard to deliver quality content and the supporters who understood our vision and helped us be able to broadcast for another day. I can't tell you how tight things have been financially and how frugal we had to be to make it, but we made it.

 

Lastly, you listeners have been so much like family to us. We will miss you. We love you. Pray for us as you remember us, and we will pray and remember you.
